This post is dedicated to my grandfather, who on Thursday lost the battle with Parkinson's, but has won the war, because he is now in the presence of the Lord.
I have never known or will know a man like my grandfather. They just don't make men like that anymore. He was quiet and humble but when he spoke people listened. He was purposeful in every action. He was kind, patient, and incredibly intelligent. He could build anything. He was loyal to his wife of 65 years and to his family who dearly loved him.
He was the example of what a man should be for himself, his wife, his child, his family and friends. He was a jewel among many stones and he will be missed.
I relish in the fact that he is standing tall and is no longer in pain. He is in the presence of the Lord and we all can only wish to be there too one day.
I love you Paw-Paw!

Hi All - this is Tina again - Jodi's sister-in-law. Just wanted to keep you up-to-date on Jodi's progress and say thanks for reading and the well-wishes! Jodi had her baby shower back on June 23. They are so blessed to have received so many wonderful things for the baby! I hope I am just as ready and prepared when my time comes to have a lil peanut just as Billy and Jodi are ;)

Jodi is due around August 11, but it could be any day soon! I'll be running off to join them when the big day comes, but I will be sure to write a brief post here for her so that you guys know when little Sammie graces us with his presence :)

Nursery progress...pt. 2

Hey guys! This is Tina (aunt-to-be) posting. I was home for Mother's Day weekend and got to see everyone and the progress of the nursery. It is just about done and oh so cute! The theme: Tortoise and the Hare, a childhood story that a lot of us are familiar with! So, in the following pictures I will take you through the story of the book and the nursery :)

The Tortoise and the Hare are all over the nursery walls from left to right and around the window. It's so cute! I couldn't have been more creative myself. The construction of the room is done of course as well as the painting and wiring. I'm so proud of my brother for all the construction work he has done on the nursery. Mom-to-be is quite busy and preparing for her baby shower for later next month. She asked me to say hi to everyone and thank you for your comments!

My brother spotted this rainbow across the field from Mom's house and I was so lucky to capture this picture of the rainbow and the two lovies underneath it in the mist of the passing rain. Love you guys :)

SHAME, SHAME...

I know, I know that I have been very bad and deserve a whipping with a wet noodle! I am going to be brutally honest and just say that things are going very well but we are swamped. Although I have been able to stop by every once in a while on my fellow bloggers sites, I have not had the time (or the energy) to update my own.
I want to thank every one who has been loyal and those that keep popping in. I do greatly appreciate it. I do check my blog for any updated comments because I care what you guys are saying :)
I think until everything dies down that my blogs will be few and far between. The nursery is completed, we are getting ready to go vacation, right after we return new carpet is being installed in the whole house, so we have to get all the furniture and stuff moved for that, shortly after is the baby shower, and then my dear friends we will be able to sit around and wait for Samuel to decide to grace us with his presence.
Hopefully by the end of June my schedule will clear out, my energy will return (here's hoping, lol) and I can return to my normal updates. One can never know...

IT'S A BOY!!!

I know that I have been away for awhile, but I am back to let everyone know that we are expecting a bouncing baby boy!!! I have some really cool ultrasound pics and a DVD from the doctor's visit. I will be scanning the pics soon and putting them on Blogger along with pics of a nearly finished (construction that is) nursery!!!
We are so excited and blessed and feel honored that we have been chosen to have and raise a child. What an enormous responsibilty and what a grave charge we have been given. I believe that we are up to the challenge. Talk to everyone soon!

I really don't have anything new to blog about, but I also feel bad that I have not updated my blog in some time. The boys continued work on the nursery yesterday and I will post some pics of that soon but it's pouring down the rain/freezing rain today and I am not going outside.
I have my next Peanut appointment tomorrow and am excited about that. I always like to hear the heartbeat and know everything is okay. Last appointment, as you all know, I got to see the baby unexpectantly because the doc could not get the heartbeat through the handheld listening device, so the good Doc did an ultrasound. I am hoping that an ultrasound is in my future tomorrow as well because we are at the point to determine the gender.
We are supposed to find out at the end of March, but if I can find out tomorrow, I am gonna!!!
Other than that, not much is going on. I will say that Idol this year is not as good as last year. I know there is no way last year's season can be beat but this is awful. They need to send almost all the boys home and keep about 4 girls instead of going through the next several weeks only delaying the inevitable.
On the menu tonight: Pork tenderloin; marinated in Peppercorn, boiled potatoes, and broccoli.

Nursery progress...

Well the boys have been steadfast with working on the nursery. Right now half of the nursery is up and the other half is on its way. I have provided pictures of the progress thus far. Don't forget that the room will come out to the concrete, lol. Still it's not a big room but it is a perfect size for a Peanut :)

I would also like to extend a warm Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. I am not a big fan of the commericalized holiday but I am only one person~lol.

Something new that I also wanted to start was something called "On the menu tonight." I don't know about everyone else but I get tired of having the same old dinner meals every week. I figured if we all shared what was "on the menus" at our houses, others; like myself :) could get some ideas for new dinners.

On the menu tonight: Lasagna, garlic bread, and a nice salad with Zesty Italian dressing

The Doctor's appointment

So on Monday I had another "peanut" appointment. It went well. My appointment was at 9:15am and they didn't take me back into the exam room until almost 10 though. That did not make me happy.

So the nurse put me back in the room and explained that the Dr. would be in a few minutes to talk with me. I thought this was great because this is the first time meeting my actually dr. so I was all excited.

I waited and she came in and we spoke briefly about my history and yadda. Then she said that I needed to undress and put on that wonderful paper vest and paper sheet thing~lol. Come to find out it was a complete physical!!! Luckily I had showered and shaved :)

So after all that exploration of worlds unknown, she said "Let's listen to the baby!"

Okay, then I was excited. She was going to use one of those hand held listening things and stated that since I was early in the pregn. it would probably take her a few minutes to find the heartbeat and I should not get alarmed.

Well she listened and listened and even listened some more and she couldn't hear it. Then she stated the most wonderful words ever~"I think the baby is still too small to hear through the belly so LET'S DO ANOTHER ULTRASOUND!!!"

Yeah! I go to see Peanut again. Peanut looks like a baby now and Peanut's little heart was just a beating. The Doc said the heart was very strong and the baby was growing right on time :)

So the Peanut is doing wonderful!!!!

Then it was off for a urine sample and some blood work, fun time over with~LMAO!!!

I thought that I would update you guys.

On another note, I caught one of my dogs on the bed yesterday (they are not allowed up there anymore b/c we bought a brand new mattress) and she was sound asleep so I had to snap this pic. Enjoy:

Bad blogger, bad, bad

Okay, I know that I have somewhat fallen into the black abyss of bloggers that don't update frequently enough, but as we all know, I have a lot on my plate right now~ lol.

Update on the kidney stone: THERE IS NO UPDATE NEEDED!!! I have not passed it yet and today I heard from it all day. Not an unbearable pain but an uncomfortable one nonetheless.

Update on the pregnancy: I thought that my "morning" sickness had passed since I had not heard from it for about a week and a half, but again I had been fooled. Saturday, a co-worker of mine got married and I thought I had just eaten something that didn't agree with me so after the reception we went to the dreaded grocery store and by the time we left there I was green.

And it hasn't ended since. Oh well, add it to the list of the many joys of pregnancy~ lol.

DON'T FORGET THAT AMERICAN IDOL HAS STARTED!!!

The Urologist

So I had my Urologist appointment today. Before I tell this story I wonder what makes a person want to specialize in excretion of fluid from the human body? It's not that I think its gross or anything, I just wonder what makes someone make that decision.
Anyways, the jist of the appointment is that he can not do anything for me b/c I am with child. If the pain gets too intense then he can perform a major surgery and put a stent in, but he does not want to do that because often times people have more problems with the stents than with the actual stones themselves.
So his advice to me, that I paid for of course, was to continue to drink a lot of fluids and it will eventually come out. So there you have it...
The good thing about the visit though was I told him that in the past 36 hours I have had this urge to pee all the time and then I go and nothing or not a lot come out. He stated that the stone is close to the bladder if this is happening and its making the bladder confused and that is why I "feel" like I need to go alot. If it's near the bladder, according to the doc, it's close to coming out.
So keep those prayers a comin'!

Out Damn Stone...

So yesterday I went to work all excited about the things I had to do that day. I had a couple new client meetings and so on. My first appointment was at 10am and he showed up at 10:05 am. I already had his file started so the intake begun immediately. I had maybe asked him a few questions when this pain gripped my right flank. I excused myself and went to the upstairs bathroom since the downstairs bathroom was being worked on (perfect timing).
I tried to use the lady's room but to no avail. I went back downstairs and thought that I would just need to suck it up and continue with my meeting. I managed to ask my client one more question before asking him to wait in the lobby. There was no one else in my office so I walked down to a neighboring office where I proceeded to ask for help and the rest is history. I was carried out in an ambulance to hospital where it was determined that I had a kidney stone.
Now I have had one other about 4 years ago but it was slightly different than this but needless to say the pain is still as intense as ever. The hospital staff, although nice, seemed a little malfunctioning. They blew 2 of my veins trying to start an IV and I am a huge needle phobe. They tried to put me on morhpine for the pain, which I would have been glad to have, but being pregnant I was astonished. They told me over and over that morphine doesn't cross the placenta and it was perfectly safe for the baby, but I have a hard time beleiveing this when I can't even have DAY-QUIL for crying out loud!
So I just gritted my teeth and went on. Now unlike my other kidney stone experience, I STILL HAVE NOT PASSED THIS ONE!!! That's right. I am a ticking time bomb. We came home from hospital yesterday and I had another episode, but still didn't pass it!
So I took the day off, in hopes that my body would cooperate, but so far no dice. The only good thing about yesterday was being able to see PEANUT again. They had to do an ultrasound of my kidneys, since X-Rays are out of the question, and the nurse was kind enough to take a sneak peek at PEANUT. There PEANUT was, just chillin', little heart going a mile a minute :)
Anyways, please pray that I pass this soon. Thanks all.

First Doctor's Appointment Report...

Well Friday was our first baby doctor's appointment. We had our first ultrasound and got to see "Peanut" and hear the heartbeat. It was fascinating. I am going to try and scan the picture and put it on the blog, but I have been sick with some type of viral thing going around here since Friday and this is really the first time I have gotten out of the bed.

The doctor stated that everything looks great and the baby had a good heartbeat and according to the ultrasound our due date is AUGUST 11th!!!

Since Misty was talking about the outfits that we bought her little ones for Christmas, I thought I would post a picture of the Angel outfit. Too Cute!!!

FINALLY OUR SECRET CAN BE SHARED...

So we had a very nice Christmas. We were able to be with all members of the family and share in the wonderful Christmas spirit. My hubby got me some really cool presents which included a Coach purse, some new vinyl for my album collection, and an AUTOGRAPHED script of Scarface with the signatures of none other than the man himself Al Pacino, Oliver Stone, and Michelle Pfieffer to name a few. It is incredible!!!
But the best Christmas present that we got this year is Peanut!!! WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!! We are due in the middle of August!!! Can you believe it!!!
Now I did not know that I was expecting when I quit smoking but it is a miracle. It's like everything has come together and has been tied together with a big red bow by the Almighty this year.
Although we are anxious, hubby and I are beyond excited about our soon to be new addition. I am glad that I FINALLY get to make this announcement. My sister and Tina, who read my blog daily were surprised with the news for Christmas so I couldn't announce any sooner. But they both know now and everyone is all excited.
I hope that everyone had a blessed Christmas and I hope the New Year brings wonder and amazement for all.

And I must say that smoking is pretty much the last thing on my mind. At first I thought that I had made a wrong decision (how good I even have thought that) but now I could never go back. I am smoke-free and loving it. I know that ya'll are probably tired of having me rant about smoking, but other than that there hasn't been much excitement going on around here ;)

Me and the hubby finished up the Christmas shopping yesterday and I have managed to wrap his presents. I went to bed early last night and thought I heard him wrapping mine :)

But other than that, I havent begun wrapping any other presents. I just want to get this week over with and let the festivities begin. I have a feeling that this is going to be the best Christmas EVER!

I wish all my fellow bloggers out there a fantastic Christmas and a Very Merry New Year!!!

8 DAYS...

It has been 8 days and I am still smoke-free. It has been very difficult but I am hanging in there. My B-day party went very well and it was loads of fun. It's hard to believe that I am actually 30 now.
I have had a lot of time to reflect this week. I have struggled and been extremely depressed but hopefully the worse part is over. They say that the physical addiction to smoking is over in 7 days and the psychological addiction can last up to 6 weeks.
I will keep holding on. For all of you that have been a support to me~ I really appreciate it! It has meant the world to me, even though I might have acted like a bitch at the time~lol.
To all of those who let me down, well I have learned that I am stronger than I thought and although your support would have been greatly appreciated, I don't need you I guess~lol.

TOUGH WEEK!

Well this has been one of the roughest weeks ever. I know that some of you know that I am (was) a smoker. I have smoked for about 15 years. I made a promise to myself that I would quit by my 30th for myself and everyone else around me.
Well with my B-day on Saturday, I knew that this past weekend was D-Day. So Sunday I awoke a non-smoker.
Horrible, horrible decision (not really) but it has been sooooooooooooo awful.
I feel that I am in detox from some hard drug like heroine or cocaine or something. I am very depressed, moddy beyond belief, and if I know you, then I will probably rip your face off from one minute to the next. The bottom line is that I am hurting!
I know that I need to not smoke. I know that it is healthier for me and my family. I know that this is the right thing but, here are the things I don't know:
I don't know if I do not want to smoke. Smoking has been a large part of my life for so long that it feels like a death. To some of you this may sound pathetic, but it's true. I feel that something in me or about me has died/changed. Not to mention the fact that I turned 30 on Saturday and then ripped my whole world upside down on Sunday.
I don't know if I can be successful. It has been 4 days since my last cig and I know there are more days left for the physical addiction to dissolve and then it's left to the pyschological addiction. I want to smoke just the same as I wanted to smoke 4 days ago. Now it is true that the pain is not as intense but it's still there.
I know that this seems like a ramble but it's not. Please no one ask me if I am trying the patch or the pill or the cough drop because I am not. I quit Cold Turkey and I really wished that I had not quit at all.

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TOO~YAY!!!

Today I have turned the big 30!!!

Although 30 is a big milestone, I am happy that I have been so blessed to make it this far. Some people don't get that chance.

My Birthday so far has been GRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT!
My hubby got me a 19" black pearl necklace, some godiva chocolate, the new Godfather book (The Godfather's Revenge), and a book on the Doors,which is the coolest.

My mom and I have a yearly ritual to go to lunch the day before my B-day and then shopping. She bought me some really nice clothes and this kick a** crushed velvet green jacket. Rockin!!!

Today I will celebrate with my family at a late lunch. Then tonight my hubby and best friend, Pook, are throwing me a PARTAY :) at a local hotspot and have invited 40 of my closest friends. It will be fun.

Well thats all for now, but I do want to wish a fellow Blogger a very happy B-day on Monday the 4th. You all know him and love him~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY GARETH!!!

Well we are still doing some odds and ends around the house this weekend, but nothing compared to last weekend. I think that is why I had such a hard time this week. Since I literally had no break last weekend, it wrecked me for the week.
Me and my mom went Thanksgiving shopping today and got all the fixins'. I am so excited about hosting Thanksgiving this year!!!
My eye is healing up nicely and so far, so good.
Not much else is going on here.
Has anyone else that has Blogger updated their stuff with that new Google/Blogger update? I am just afraid that it might change my blog addy and wanted to know if anyone else had done it.

Monday, Monday...

Well the remodel of the bathroom is finally finished! It looks fantastic! I am so excited. There is so much room in there now, thanks to my trusty hubby. It has a cool beach theme going on with lots of real seashells found by none other than myself and hubby on our many trips to the BEACH!
I know that Gareth requested pics but I don't have the time or the energy to do that right now but will do it later.
Speaking of being exhausted...Monday truly started off with a bang because I had to get up at 4:30am for work today! UGHHH... and somehow I am listening to the sounds of my husband snoring while I am cooking dinner...I don't know how that is fair~lol.
In other news I am so excited about hosting my first THANKSGIVING!!! I am doing all the cooking (except the turkey, because that is my husband's speciality) and am having our whole family over to enjoy. I am so excited about it I can barely type~LMAO!

GOOD MORNING!

Well as you can see it's pretty early in the morning. I awoke at 2:45 am and have not been able to get back to sleep. So I cleared somethings off of the Tivo, made breakfast for me and the hubby, organized some files for work, loaded some (15) closed files into my car to bring to the office, and now I am updating my blog~whew!
Don't know what's up. I haven't been sleeping well and when I do get to sleep, it's hard to stay that way.
Hubby finished the first part of the remodel to the bathroom. That included a new pedestal sink, a new medicine cabinet, and a really sophisticated set of vanity lights~ YAY! Lookin' good. Now we have a new floor to put down, a new toliet, a new bathtub, and paint left to do. Also he is making a "linen" closet for the bathroom as well~ We are on our way~lol.
My surgery went well for all those that were wondering. It did not hurt as much and the recovery this time seems easier. I took it like a champ!
On another note I would ask everyone to remember me and my family in your thoughts and prayers. Not something I want to talk about but we are going through a rough time right now and would appreciate it.

2 THINGS...

First, we hired a housekeeper and I could not be more exstatic!!!! Man alive I can't beleive that I can come home to a clean house and I didn't have to clean. Now normally I know that those with housekeepers are usually rich, but we are not. But anyone who knows me, knows for sure TIME is not something that I have. I found this GREAT Christian owned company to do it and they are FANTASTIC!
I have been bouncing this idea around for awhile but could not budget the "initial cleaning." This company does not charge extra for the initial!!!! Are you as excited as I am~lol. I am thrilled. It's a blessing.
Secondly, I have to have another surgery on Friday. For those of you that remember back in June I had to have a cyst removed from over my eye. Well guess what?!?! IT STILL HAS NOT HEALED!!!
This will be my 4th time back and second surgery. This one will be worse because now they have to cut through all the scar tissue and go way deeper to the "seed" of the cyst that was apparently missed the first miserable time. I apologize for the graphic nature here. Anyways, keep me in your prayers and thoughts on Friday if you can.

Brief Update

Sorry I haven't blogged sooner. We had a fantastic time in MAINE. It was awesome. I will definetly post more on this subject soon, but for right now I have STREP THROAT! So I wanted to let you all know that we returned safely, had a great time, and now I am sick!
So hopefully everyone will remain patient until I can get better and then fill in everyone with the great details of our trip.

A CHANCE TO BREATHE

Finally a moment to myself-Whew! It has been a fast and crazy ride here for the past couple of weeks. As you guys know I was away at a conference which was held in VA Beach. Me and my other co-workers were so looking forward to this conference and it turned out to not be so fun.
There were some hightlights of course...went to the American Idol concert on that Friday night and OH MY GOODNESS it was fantastic. I finally got to see my TAYLOR! I have pics so I will make sure to share.
While at the conference my co-worker and mine room flooded and we had to be switched to a third room in 5 days. I will leave it at that.
After returning on Thursday, me and hubby took a three day weekend to celebrate his new job and went to the OBX. We camped and the weather was fantastic. It was great just to see him and share some much needed "us" time together.
After returning from our mini vacation, it was back to work and boy that was no joke. As we all know, when you go away for a little bit, things pile up and you end of playing catch up all week.
On top of work being so hectic, my mom was having a yard sale and we had to focus on getting things together for that.
The yard sale was this morning and we were out of bed at 5am-YUCK!
Now that is all over and me and hubby can finally focus on our anniversary trip coming up next weekend. That's right all, I will be gone again for a while.
Can anyone guess where we are going? (For those of you that already know, don't cheat lol)
I am finally getting excited since not being able to even think about it for the past two months because I have literally been booked solid, but now it's upon us and I am getting butterflys!!!
My hubby planned and arranged everything having to do with this trip and I must say I was quite impressed!

Well instead of me being a beach "bum" this weekend~ Ernesto decided to make this weekend a "bummer." Me and hubby and some friends were headed to the coast this weekend. We have hung on to every drop of hope that Ernesto was not going to hit the Carolinas, but to our dismay it is headed straight for them.
The campground we had reservations for e-mailed us and said that the Island was shutting down and would not reopen until the 4th. THANKS ERNESTO lol!
Anyways, I guess I will be enjoying a three day weekend of just relaxing, which by the way, I have not done in such a long time.
A weekend with no plans or schedules??? Well I can still be a "bum" it just won't be at the beach :)

Yesterday my family and me celebrated my grandparents 65th wedding Anniversary!!! Yes, you read that right- 65 years!!! It's amazing to me.
We had the celebration at a semi-local establishment. It was wonderful. It was great to see some of my extended family and my grandparents close friends.
The example they have set has been priceless. I truly admire their dedication and committment. I can only pray that God will bless me and my husband like that.

I made reservations for myself, my mom, and my grandmom to have "high tea" today. We had a great time and great food.
My mother is my rock and I am very blessed to be her child.

BUSY SATURDAY

Well today was quite a busy day. My mom and I decided to have a yard sale many months ago. Well with time as a factor we had it today. The yard sale was a huge success and even though it was hectic, I had a good time.
With that being said- I am worn out! I was at my mom's until 10:30pm last night only to be back at her house again this morning by 5am-- You are reading that time correctly. Long story short, we over slept, but made it to her house by 5:30am.
Everyone was busy getting the items into the correct place, pricing the items that still had not been proced, putting up signs, etc. Then the rain came!!! We were lucky enough that the rain lasted only about 45 minutes. The rest of the day was great weather. It was not a sun blazing hot day. The people came out in droves and my mom made a good profit!
Then I had to leave my duties as "money change person" "bagger" and "trusty assistant" to take a shower and change clothes to head to a housewarming party for my boss.
The party was great and I had a really good time. Needless to say, when I returned to my humble abode at 4:00pm I was exhausted.
I had talked about and looked forward to taking a glorious, long anticipated, late afternoon nap. I actually stayed up for about an hour and then retreated to my bed. I have to say that my nap only lasted 2 hours. I was a little disappointed.
I guess to some that seems like a long time, but naps are few and far between for me now and for everyone that knows me well, knows that I used to be a nap-a-holic. My plan was to sleep as long as possible, but my body had other plans (I won't go into details)
Anyways, it has been a relaxing evening and I look forward to a "lazy" Sunday before another hectic work week begins.

Oh, on a sidenote- I have been trying to add photos to my blog for days and for some reason it will not work. It goes through the process and downloads my photo and says its "Done" but when I go to click it into my post, there is no photo!!! Any ideas???

OZZFEST UPDATE!

I know that everyone has been waiting for the update about the ROCKIN' weekend I had. So here goes...
So we planned to leave on Friday afternoon. We were not quite sure about the time though, because our friend Joe was coming with and were not quite sure where he would be by the time we got off work. After calling and calling him, we decided to head to Richmond at about 6pm in the hopes that he would be there.
We arrived in Richmond at about 9:15pm, all the way worrying about if we had made the right decision to leave our hometown in hopes that Joe would be in Richmond. We made the right decision. At about 9:30pm Joe calls and says that he is on his way and is about 45 minutes out!
Joe arrives and we order pizza and chill.
We decided that we should see if we can locate a set list for the show tomorrow. We had orginally decided to leave at about 8am in the morning b/c the show began at 10:15am. Boy were we surprised to find out that the main stage performances were not even beginning until about 5pm. Glad we checked!!! So we all sleep in- yay (my fav thing)
We left Richmond at about 1:30pm for the 2 hour trek to VA Beach. Another thing we were wrong about lol. The traffic was crazy!!!! It took us about 4 hours to get to the ampitheatre! The traffic was stop and go the whole time and of course there were a bunch of idiots on the road, but my girl Tina held her own :)
We arrive at our destination and notice that we have to park like a mile away and walk to the ampitheatre. That was no fun b/c it was EXTREMELY hot outside. As we are going in, they perform the "pat down." I had a bottle of Aquafina in my pocket b/c I read that you could bring in water. The security guy asked me to take the lid off of the bottle. I thought that he was going to smell it to make sure it was water. I opened the bottle in front of him to make sure he saw that the bottle was new and had not yet been opened b/c that it what I thought he was getting at. Then he tells me that I needed to throw my cap away. I was like WHAT??? I still don't understand the reasoning behind this "security" measure but then I had to walk around all night with a bottle of water I couldn't reseal- Weird!!!
We finally make it in and find out seats as Lacuna Coil is preforming on stage.
We got to see Lacuna Coil, Hatebreed, A7F, Disturbed, and finally----SYSTEM OF A DOWN!!!
That was well worth the wait!
The concert was rockin and so was the crowd. It was an awesome site!!!
Some people think that hard rock would be violent or outlandish, but it wasn't in the slightest. Everyone was friendly and the music was killer. Shows how much people judge others by how they look, etc.
When System of a Down came on I was out of my seat the WHOLE TIME!!! They were great! It was a once in a lifetime oppurtunity because they never tour-EVER- in this area. Now I have heard rumors of them "taking a break" from each other for a while, so I am glad that I got the chance to experience this.
After the concert was over, we had the fortune to be parked at the end of a row right beside an exit, so we didn't even have to wait for all the traffic to clear out. Everyone was passing by saying "Rock on" and "that was awesome!"
We managed to make it back home in an hour and 45 minutes- Thanks to our trusty driver ;)
We all crashed when we got back and woke up the next day and had some lunch together before heading back to our destinations.
Over all, the weekend was spectacular, and like Tina I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING ABOUT IT!!!

This weekend my hubby and I bought a TREADMILL. I love it. We both need it. We were looking back at some old photos of us when we first started dating and we have both put on those "comfort" pounds lol.
I am actually getting ready to go and try it out for the first time. Hopefully I will not die of exhaustion and will be able to write more on the subject later.

I don't know if I have told you guys that I had to have scaling done on my teeth. The first scaling was on the left side of my mouth a week or so ago. It went okay. Well on Friday I had the right side done and let me tell you... I still can not chew on that side.
I don't know if anyone ever realizes how much chewing on both sides of one's mouth is benefical and convient, but until you can not utilize one side you can not understand.
I eat but I am sure hungry for things I really want-like a big,fat, juicy STEAK!!!
Anyways, I see that Blogger has scheduled an "outage" for 4:00pm- Better go!

Well I have been busy but I will post a second for my pal Gareth!
Had a great weekend...pause...back to work...then off for the 4th! Went shopping with my sis on Saturday and had a great time. Then a party at my friend's house Monday night. Then a get together at a friend's house on Tuesday evening for the 4th.
Went back to work on Wednesday and today. Had to go back to the plastic surgeon today and get some more infection removed out of my eye that I had operated on JUNE 2ND! Man Alive!
Tomorrow I have another appointment with the dentist to have more work on my teeth, so yeah...

The end of the month for me is always crazy at work because we have monthly reports that take everyone about 2 whole days to complete... AND I AM FINISHED!!! I was a good worker bee yesterday which only left me 9 reports to finish today!!! They are complete and I am now set for whatever next month has to offer work wise :)
As the 4th approaches I just want to offer a Happy Fourth of July to everyone out there in America!!!

Hubby and I spent the whole day moving my best bud and her fam into their new abode. I am happy for them. What I am not happy about is that we have to move some other peps this month-TWICE! I mean what is up with moving in June this year!

Anyways, hubby and I are getting ready to fire up the grill and cook some steaks-YUM. It's a great reward for such hard work today :)

Well I had my surgery today and that didn't disappoint either. I was a nervous wreck and of course I ended up going by myself (which hubby was not happy about). He was right after all, because my eye was swollen and half shut, which made both eyes teary, which made it hard to see. I made it home safely and was glad that I didn't get pulled over. It would have been a hard situation to explain lol. When hubby got home from work, we both laid down for a nap and wouldn't you know it... Slept till now. I guess the stress and pain from the day wore me out.
Anyways, I hope that everyone has a good weekend. I also send healthy thoughts to Tina who is under the weather. Feel better conch!

This was an incredible weekend. Not only was it Mom's Day, but also my hubby's and good friend J-Dog's birthday as well. Although the weekend was busy, it was quite enjoyable being able to see all my loved ones.
I love Mother's Day. We probably don't say it enough throughout the year about how much we appreciate our steadfast mothers, but we should. My mom, my rock, and my shelter from all this cruel world has to offer- much graditude and thankfulness. Besides my mom being a great mother, she had to put up with me lol!
My beautiful husband's birthday was also today. What another blessing I have be afforded. The light of my life and the apple of my eye and I course he is another one that has to put up with me :)

HAPPY EASTER: PART 2

Yesterday I totally meant to post some more words, but then hit the enter button and ended up with Happy Easter only and didn't feel like going back in.
I had a terrific Easter weekend. I went on a short little trip to Dollywood with my fam and had a blast. I got caught up on my work. I had a wonderful time at Church and then got to see my other fam.
My conch came in as a surprise to us all this weekend and helped me with my blog page. New video link and blinkies are all due to Weiner. THANKS SO MUCH!!! At first she started talking to me in all this computer jargon and I was like "Ummm...Can't you just do it for me, because I don't understand a word you are saying?!" LMAO But I must say that I added my blinkies myself after careful instruction from her yesterday :) Hopefully I will be able to change my video once in awhile before you all get sick of listening to the RHCPs.

Sorry it's been so long since the last post, but I have been really, really busy. IT'S NOT LIKE YOU GUYS VISIT REGUARLY OR ANYTHING!!! lol.
Well I had a touch of the flu this week and boy have I felt bad. On top of that, my allergies have been secretly trying to destroy me as well. Luckily the pollen count today was not that high. Dang trees trying to grow...
Well I am looking forward to a weekend of housework and real work. I will be glad when next Friday gets here because I am taking a small trip with my lovely family.

Monday, Monday...

Well for a Monday, this day was not that bad. Sorry to all of those out there whose Monday did not go so well.
The weather today has been totally unpredictable. One minute it's sunny and bright and the next minute you would think the world was going to end with all the wind and lightning and thunder. Man alive, for that action I should have at least seen a rainbow :(
Speaking of storms- thanks for waking me up this morning at 4am. It was thundering and lightning all over the place lol.
Well it is spring afterall. I guess I should be used to it. My allergies are killing me this season!!!

Super Sunday

I have managed to milk this STUPID daylight savings time for all it's worth today. I have done all the laundry, finished 21 reports for work, set up my April spreadsheets for work, and completed (and passed) my quiz for class due tomorrow. That evil hour that is lacking will not defeat me lol!
Well Monday is right around the corner and I am looking forward to another busy, busy week. I am not complaining, just counting down the days (actually a little over a month) till I go to the beach!!
Anywho- Have a great week all and I will read ya next time around!

Exhausted mentally and physically

Well it's technically Friday, but I am posting this for Thursday.
Today started off with a bang. Work was war- from the beginning to the late, late end. I have a lot of things bouncing around in my head right now, but one thing I know is life is short. I am not going to explain this message.
I am at a loss for words. Actually I am not at a loss, I have a lot of things I want or need to say, but they are mine, only for me. Take care of each other and love hard.

Twisted Tuesday

Today wasn't that bad of a day actually. I only had one appointment for the day and then I got my hair cut. I don't know what it is about going to the hairdresser, but I love it! It's that feeling of taking care of yourself, being pampered, and spending money all in one lol.
Anyways, it was a beautiful spring day here. It was quite warm. As spring usually goes, it is now raining and thundering- typical.
The rest of the week will be quite chaotic. I am trying to look forward to the weekend. On Saturday I am doing the MS Walk from 9am-2pm. The only thing I am not looking forward to is it being like almost 80 and raining on Saturday :(

Well it was a very long day and I am just getting ready to fix something to eat for dinner. I won't have much time to write this week because work is in overdrive and overtime. Man I am busy. I hope everyone's week goes well. I have to remind myself exactly the reason why I work and here it is:

Well what a weekend full of nothing. Getting ready to run to Lowe's with the hubby (if I can get him out of the bed) lol. I have alot of "work" things to do today. It's the price I pay for having a personal life during the week, I have to catch up on my progress notes on Sundays :(
Woke up this morning and some country critter had gotten into our trash. I am not looking forward to going across the whole yard picking up items I disposed of already for a reason!

Lazy Saturday and I love it!

Well its a very dreary Saturday in terms of the weather. It's raining and cold here. I am so glad that I have nothing on my agenda today, the dayrunner is EMPTY!! I am going to use this time to refuel for the grueling week ahead. The end of the month is always rough because there is a lot of paperwork that needs to be done. URGGH!
Right now I am listening to "Monster Ballads" the first one. That's right, Can you take me High Enough? To fly me over yesterday... I know all of you out there are singing it in your heads right now. I used to love those Damn Yankees lol. What's even funnier...My sister has the Monster Ballads Platinum album. It cracks me up, because those songs were the real thing when I was her age. I used to listen to all that stuff. You know what they say "history repeats itself!"
Let's see...what else can I say today. Well in the spirit of "rockin" with the 80's, here's a pic of me rockin it out:

You would think by my post that I was in a GRRREEAATT mood, but actually I am glum. Hopefully my mood will switch around here in the next few hours and I can wake up refreshed and ready to face the weekend :)

Needing Friday Bad

Today was a long one. I am so exhausted from this week, it's pathetic. I am so looking forward to Friday at 6:30pm- that's quitting time for me this week. Anyways...what can I rant about today...I really started this blog thing at a bad time because I am not ticked off, as usual, about anything EXCEPT... My husband having to work some stupid shift for 3 weeks. It sucks BADLY!!! It wears on me and it wears on him. I guess millions of people do it everyday, but me and my husband actually like spending time with each other lol.

Well today was a long day, but I am so glad this week is almost over. I am looking forward to having NO plans this weekend and spending a little boo-boo time with my hubby. Right now we are working opposite shifts, so we don't see each other at all during the week. I know, its sad, but try to keep together will ya :)
Not much to say today. Nothing really infuriated me today, nothing is really wrong, I am just incredibly tired and am welcoming falling asleep in front of the trance machine we call a T.V. Well the best of the best for all of ya out there in blogger land. I am signing off.

Lazy Tuesday

Well it's about 7pm on Tuesday and I am enjoying a nice cup of DECAF Earl Grey wondering how the day passed by so quickly. I have not left the house today, which has been wonderful. That's one good thing about my job, some days I can work from home and stay in my pajamas lol.
Well this is my second post and I am quite enjoying the sound of my thoughts rolling into the vast space called the internet. I need to figure out though how to do the pics and things, so I can be a cool blogger.

This is a picture of my children or my mother-in-law's grandbabies, which ever way you prefer :) I have figured out how to add pics into my daily writing sessions, but not for my profile pic, since it requires a URL addy. Anyways...

Since poetry seems to be the theme on my all my friend's blog sites, I am going to have to pull out some of mine. I am still trying to work on my book though. And when I say work on it, I mean thinking about it over and over again in my analytical head of mine. I have managed to write the preface about a year ago but since then I have been battling with the format in my head and can't decide how I want it to read. I actually discussed this dilemma with my hubby today, so maybe I am one step closer to getting it on a roll. Well I hope that everyone's Tuesday was as slow paced as mine and I wish all my friends out there one heck of a hump day.

Okay, I did it. I collapsed under the pressure of my own mother-in-law having a blog site and finally created my own. I have no idea who would want to read about my simple day to day ramblings and rants, but I do enjoy reading others, so maybe this will be a sucess.
My subject for the day... I'm AWAKE!!! It's 2:59 am and I am still AWAKE!!! What is my problem??? Anyways, while the rest of the civilized people of this city are sleeping peacefully in their nice comfortable beds, dreaming of whatever it is they dream of, I am still trying to figure out how the rest of today is going to pan out for me. I guess that will be the subject of my next entry.
